I did this by soldering the push button to a circuit with a relay, and using the Aux switch to power the relay and complete the push button circuit on the remote.

The wiring for both Aux 1 and Aux 2 are rated for 30 amps. Aux 1 is indeed fused for 30 amps, however, Aux 2 is only fused for 15 amps from the factory.
