Jul 20, 2015 · A small percentage of the SKS rifles in the US lack import marks. In the years that I've been paying attention I've only seen 3 Russian SKS rifles sans import marks. One of those was a bring back from Vietnam. The others were examples that I think the importer somehow missed applying a mark. I own one SKS with no import marks - a 1978 Yugo 59/66. The ones on the metal are inspection marks had an early Chinese sino era that was loaded with stamps! The stocks are refurbished then re issue stamps,hence the 3 sets of serial numbers on it! Idk it looks like bubba took a Chinese or otherwise rifle with a blank top cover and turned it into a 40’s dated Russian to sell for a profit.
