May 7, 2019 · My Security 9 has had four FTEs across approximately 310 rounds since new. The first two were classic stovepipes and easily cleared. The last two were very odd in that the spent casing stayed in the barrel’s chamber requiring me to use a small wooden dowel to pry the casing out; not good for a home defense/carry gun! It’s pretty obvious why the feed ramp needs to be a smooth, polished surface. The nose of the bullet must slide over and through this concave surface to enter the chamber. If the surface is too rough or is nicked or burred, the bullet can get stuck. Yes, I feel I have had some experience with semi-auto guns. I also have a Ruger SR9 (which I think has a stronger recoil spring than the SR9c) and a Ruger LCP (which I replaced the 9# recoil springs with 11# recoil springs). I kinda think if I can lock the slide open on these two, I should be able to do it on the SR9c. No offense taken.

Repeat. it could be the round stuck that's preventing the slide from moving. If you can press on the extractor (releasing case) while pulling the slide back, you may get it to move. Then it'll be easy to stick a dowel down the barrel and pound it out.
